Our Progress – April 24
After our stage 1 test run around Te Tai Tokerau the bike has been having a break as we prepared for the main ride starting in October. We have made a few tweaks – changed our tyres to what will hopefully handle the gravel better and made a slight tweak to our luggage setup.

Keeping the bodies bike fit! Rod is our oldest Angel Seat guest - testing the seat out before signing up for 200km through Otago. Our last day on the ride around Te Tai Tokerau. A short but hilly last 53km and we diced with death on SH10 to try and avoid today’s heat. Bob was exhausted and headed for the couch on arrival. Now we can start to plan the next 7,000 or so km around the rest of Aotearoa. We have a good understanding of the challenge ahead and how to ensure that we can achieve our goal. It’s been a great start and we hope a lot more people now know of the work of Bald Angels up here. The Rear Admiral designated today as R&R - Bob decided to sunbath on the deck and then had to play dead when a one legged seagull thought he was lunch. He is in shock. With temps rising it may be an early start in the morning for the tough ride home.
